Anji Sandhu - Driving Systemic Change in Women’s Health through Inclusive Technology, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Policy, Human Rights, and Public Health
About Anji Sandhu
I am a dynamic and visionary leader specializing in forging and managing strategic partnerships across governments, corporations, and employers to advance women’s health at scale. With deep expertise in public health, technology innovation, and community engagement, I design and deliver evidence-based programs addressing critical challenges in female health and wellbeing.
Innovative Digital Health Solutions
I developed the world’s first hirsutism tracker, the first all-encompassing PCOS tracker, and the first gender-inclusive app for people with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Among these, my award-winning digital health solution, PCOS Buddy, empowers women with accessible, scientifically backed tools for effective condition management—revolutionizing healthcare for those living with PCOS through personalized support.
Public Health Campaigns & Workplace Leadership
Beyond digital innovation, I am the driving force behind the award-winning public health campaign “Unlipping PCOS: Let’s Talk About It,” initially launched in Scotland to dismantle stigma, raise awareness, and encourage open dialogue around women’s health issues. Building on this success, I lead the campaign’s global expansion with governments across Scotland, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, the USA, India, and Canada. This rollout features culturally tailored messaging, translations, and collaborations with local stakeholders to ensure relevance and meaningful impact.
I also pioneered the world’s first PCOS Workplace Pledge, supporting employers to cultivate inclusive environments that prioritize women’s health and wellbeing. My approach integrates technology, empathy, and evidence to create programs that resonate with diverse populations and deliver measurable outcomes.
Culturally Tailored Campaign Messaging
To ensure authentic global resonance, the campaign slogans are adapted as follows:
These adaptations preserve the campaign’s core mission: empowering women worldwide through open conversation and support.
Commitment to Equity and Collaboration
Driven by a commitment to equity, transparency, and sustainability, I excel at aligning diverse stakeholder interests and leveraging cross-sector collaboration. My work scales innovative health solutions that empower women to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives globally.
Fair Play for Wellbeing Code in the Workplace
A Psychological Safety Framework Supporting Women’s Health
Inspired by football’s card system, this simple, visual tool helps workplaces foster psychological safety and protect mental health—especially for women who often face subtle harmful behaviours.
How it works:
🟡 Yellow Card: Encourages early, respectful conversations
🔴 Red Card: Addresses serious breaches of psychological safety
⚫ Black Card: Enforces essential standards for trust and emotional wellbeing
Health Impact:
I am eager to collaborate with health-focused organisations like UNDP to adapt or pilot this framework, fostering psychologically safe workplaces where everyone can thrive.
